Busbud is happy to participate in the Startup Hockey event as part of the International Startup Festival on Wednesday!

The charity event features 3 on 3 street hockey matches between Startups and VCs (venture capitalists).

The event will be held Thursday July 11th from 12-2pm on King Edward Quay in Montreal’s scenic Old Port neighbourhood.

Proceeds go to Five Hole for Food, a national, volunteer-driven, non-profit organization with a bold, enterprising and entrepreneurial approach aimed at raising food and awareness for a cause that affects 10.8 million Canadians a year.

Over the past three years, FHFF has raised in excess of 200,000 pounds of food in support of local food banks across Canada. Armed with national partners, the unwavering support of over 40 volunteers, and an identity borne from social media, FHFF is bringing together communities across Canada by using hockey as a vehicle for social change, and reaching a new generation of social entrepreneurs.

You can expect particularly physical play from the Busbud team if the round-robin happens to pit us against our investor friends at iNovia Capital and Real Ventures! Keep your head up in the corners, David and JS! (Nothing like a bit of pre-game talk to boost the intensity!). Other investors participating include Rho Canada and BDC Venture Capital.

Come cheer us on live on Thursday or follow the action via the #FHFFHockey hashtag on Twitter!

As part of the International Startup Festival, Busbud was also selected to pitch to the audience of festival goers. Busbud was selected as one of 10 startup (out of 200) to pitch. This is an exciting week for Busbud!

We’re looking forward to showing our skills on the street!
